Permacrisis

A "permacrisis" - Collins Dictionary's 2022 Word of the Year - is a prolonged crisis, such as the one resulting from Russia's invasion of Ukraine or climate change. Last summer, when a heatwave damaged the runway at London's Luton Airport and caused fires around the city, The Guardian ran a headline that read: "We're living in an age of permanent crisis - let's stop planning for a ‘return to normal'."
