What personali-tea are you?
- You spoon loose-leaf tea from a caddy into a pot, pour on fresh boiling water, put a tea cosy on the pot and let it brew. You strain it into a china cup and saucer, adding a splash of milk from a jug. You may even have sugar cubes and silver tongs in a bowl. If this is your daily ritual, you're probably an older lady who enjoys The Crown. If your tea is served by a butler, then you probably wear a crown.
- If you prefer the subtle, smoky flavours of lapsang souchong tea, or the delicate citrus notes of Earl Grey with a slice of lemon, then you're super-sophisticated.
- Or do you drink British "builder's tea"? That's extra strong tea. You put a teabag in a mug of hot water, leave it to brew for ages and add milk. If you take the bag out with your fingers instead of a spoon, and stir in a load of sugar with a pen, you may well be a real builder.
- If you make caffeine-free fruit or herbal tea with an infuser - perhaps a camomile, peppermint or rooibos tea - you're calm and probably do yoga.
- Perhaps you drink matcha - Japanese green tea powder. Or spiced chai - an Indian drink made with black tea, cardamon, cinnamon, cloves, milk and sugar. If so, and especially if you use vegan oat milk or almond milk, you're under 30 and very cool.
- Lastly, if your favourite tea is a Long Island iced tea - cheers! It's a cocktail and contains no tea at all!
